Welcome to the wonderful world of wildlife! – life that is all around us all the time, yet passes by largely unnoticed, except for the occasional trip to the zoo. Zooinitas invites you to take a closer look at the animals that usually exist in the background of our worlds, bringing them to the forefront. You’ll come face to face with lions, then zebras and even sea creatures. So join us as we let the fur and feathers fly, “Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” Indeed.

“This is a celebration of our area's lively art scene, with a particular focus on art experiences that encouraged everyone to get involved, connect, and gather, possibilities seem endless and imagination has no limits”, states artist and curator, Cheryl Ehlers.

The afternoon will provide support for the Rancho Coastal Humane’s Society (RCHS). President and CEO,Jim Silveira has extended his sincerest appreciation to all the artists for their collaborated efforts and is excited about the event, and “we’re so honored that these local artists have chosen Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Animal Safehouse Program as the beneficiary of Zooinitas,” says Amy Heflin,Director of the program. “Safehouse is a safety net for the pets of domestic violence victims. When they know their pets will be safe, it allows them to escape and break the chain of violence. Safehouse is also a lifeline for veterans, senior citizens, accident victims, and…most recently…victims of the fires. Thank you Zooinitas!”
